Ask Portia “Frickin’” Perez to describe herself and she’ll keep it short, not-so-sweet and to the point.
“I’m awesome. And I kill people,” replied this Canadian spitfire whose talents have taken her across the globe and landed her in Memphis, where she looks to dish out her own brand of punishment in Magnificent Ladies Wrestling.
Standing 5 feet 4 inches tall, what Perez lacks in size, she more than makes up for in bravado. With a track record that speaks for itself, it’s hard to argue that Perez hasn’t earned the right to walk around with some extra swagger.
Perez began training under Dave Dalton in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in 2003 and made her professional wrestling debut in June 2004. She’s never looked back.
From Canada, the United States and Mexico to Europe and Japan, Perez has been there and done that. She’s worked for some of the top professional wrestling companies in the world and made herself a household name in women’s wrestling.
“I always wanted to do it,” Perez said of her choice to become a professional wrestler. And she does it well. Whether she’s wearing her opponents down with her spinning heel kick, fist drop, sliding one-legged dropkick and superkick or finishing them off with her “Just Facelock” submission, Perez is a force wherever she goes.
So what does this international star want in Magnificent Ladies Wrestling? “(To) be awesome,” she said.
